Dear Callie,
I’m currently a student at Newcastle University, England. I study French, Spanish and Art History and am required to spend a year gaining experience of living in French and Spanish speaking countries. I was hoping to come to Buenos Aires (because I’ve had a weird fascination with the city ever since I watched Evita aged 11) and have been scouring the internet for art projects or galleries I could get involved with.
I’m really passionate about art and got bullied into a language course, but obviously want to use this opportunity to do something that interests me. I really like the sound of your project and, if it’ll still be going in September, there was any opportunity for me to help out, whether it’s translating or being a general busy body!

Thanks for getting in touch! We’re trying our hardest to get some fundraising and sponsorship happening down here, which will then determine whether we’ll still be groovin in BA by September. Fingers crossed, because there are SO many fabulous opportunities that we’d love to be able to stick around and take advantage of! And, the language course will be a more amazing experience than you probably think- Argentines speak a beautiful spanish that is sung with an Italian inflection… you’ll quickly fall in love, I’m sure.

So wonderful to hear from you and thanks for getting in touch. I’m glad that you’ve gotten something from the events at Finochietto, they’ve certainly been an incredible experience for all involved and we hope to continue with more projects there very soon. We’re currently in the planning process to get some more work happening there this coming spring when the weather can be a bit more conducive to painting outdoors for long periods of time.
